Ive had a few interviews and I’m still waiting to hear back, but its looking more positive now! These things just take time but I am enjoying the time I have in the sun at the moment. I got a shock last week when I realised my time sitting on my bum is running out and I’ll be a working woman!
St. Patricks day went great over here. Bob Geldof was playing in the Irish Village on March 16th so we went to his concert. It was a great night and he was really good too! The place was packed cause the Irish Village is the obvious place for people to go for some fun on St. Patricks Weekend! Met some right good characters alright! March 17th was no different. We had lunch in te Irish Village and then went to another pub Fibbers to watch the rugby.. and thats all that will be said on that sad subject.. will we ever do it???
We had a quiet enough week this week to recover from Paddys weekend. My visa is running out soon enough so we did a run to the border between the UAE and Oman. We got there and it all went pear shaped mainly because we couldnt be bothered waiting in a line of people, so we turned around, had lunch in Hatta and came back home. I’ll get a cheap flight somewhere during the week and get it sorted. I’ll probably fly to Bahrain for the day!
We have the Dubai World Cup this weekend, the richest horse racing event in the world! Am really looking forward to it. I have no idea what to expect which is making it more exciting. I do know that the weather is really picking up here so its going to be a really warm day saturday.
Hope everyone had a good St. Patricks weekend!Â

For starters, I’m still sitting on my bum cause I’ve got no job yet! Its a a terrible situation i’ve found myself in, especially as the weather is so nice and all! I’ll just have to do some more sunbathing to keep myself out of trouble!
On a really good note, I got my exam results during the week and I was most definately pleasantly surprised with my results, so its all over now and I have come out the other end of the 2 year nightmare with a degree! Paul took me out for dinner & surprised me with champagne. The waiter was disgusted when we told him we were celebrating exam results & not anything romantic!
We went to see Karl Spain & another comedian last night. We went for the dinner before hand and our seats were reserved so we got the 4 seats in the front row! We were a bit anxious sitting in the front row and both Paul & Cyril got a bit of a slagging but it was great fun! Can’t wait to go back again.
We have Bob Geldof here next friday night. He’s playing in the Irish Village and its a free gig so looking forward to starting out Paddys weekend with that!
Hope your all keeping well & Dont forget mothers day next sunday 18th March:)
Went to hockey last tuesday night.. while it was really fun, I was wrecked after it. Great for the fitness, so I’m definately going to keep going once a week. To add to the exercise there is a gym near where paul works (he’s a member) so we’re heading there tonight. Wow, what excitement eh!
So, last week, on wednesday we went to the tennis. We watched Justine Henin play her match & caught the start of Martina Hingis playing. Martina didnt get onto the court till around 11pm so by then we were wrecked & wanted to go home. The tennis was great to watch, Justine Henin was playing against a 16 yr old with loads of bottle so they made it a really good game to watch! I’m going to try and add some pics to this of the place, players etc!
After an extremely lazy day friday, we got up saturday afternoon and went to play pitch & putt.. had so much fun at it.. and im definately going to go again.. im gona try and make it a weekly event:) To add to the excitement I decided to drive home from there, and while I was quite comfortable in the driving seat, paul was a very nervous passenger!!
Unfortunately, because i was driving now, we had to toss a coin to see who drove to matts house to watch the rugby.. I lost the toss so I was the designated driver.. i should have waited till sunday to drive! So that brings me into another week of job hunting and stuff. Not much activity from the agencies yet, I went into meet one guy last thursday but im waiting to hear anything back from the rest of them! Its a waiting game now!
Hope your all well,
Im here over a week now, and its time to go job hunting im afraid! I’m gona ring a few recruitment agencies in about an hour to have a chat & see if they can get a a job to keep me off the streets!
Its been a quiet week so far, really just lazed about and did as little as possible! This week tho is going to be a bit busy! We have a BBQ on tonight.. tomorrow night we’re going shopping in the Mall of the Emirates.. Tuesday night Pauls going to play a round of gold, so i gona get some exercise myself and go to the hockey night..
Wednesday night we’re going to see the Dubai Tennis Championship… Im not sure who’s gona be here, but I know sharipova & serena williams have cried off with inuries.. and then we’re at thursday which is the weekend over here..
Somewhere in the middle I’ll hope to have been to see these recruitment agencies to see about getting me one of those job things!
 Hope your all well,
well, i arrived here last friday morning… and to be perfectly honest, ive done nothing since i arrived! The apartment is self cleaning so i dont need to do anything there! Watched the match sunday night.. very depressing….Â
Lexy, that hat is coming in very handy! Its really hot out here!
Paul & I went for a walk last night and we discovered we are quite close to the creek over here (means nothing to you guys, but it was a lovely walk all the same!)
Will keep you all posted on the exciting life that is Dubai!
